Product Review: Cricut Expressions Machine

When I purchased my very first Cricut Create Machine by ProvoCraft, I instantly feel in love! I was instantly hooked! I talked, breathed and slept everything Cricut for months!

It’s a wonderful product for beginners! I recommend it for crafters who are looking to do simple projects or who just want a feel for what Cricut has to offer. Like myself, within months you’ll be craving a Cricut Expression Machine.

The day I purchased my canary yellow Cricut Expressions Machine, I was in crafters heaven. Loved ones had to try to pry me away from my craft room. I was addicted!!

·      Is compatible with Cricut and Cricut Lite cartridges.
·      The Cricut uses cartridges and simple keypad overlays.
·      It is also compatible with The Gypsy by Provocraft.
·      The Cricut can cut out fun designs, letters, numbers, words, phases and images.
·      No computer connection is necessary.
·      There are several creative features to choose from.
·      Cricut Expression Machine comes with a mat size 12’’ x 12’’ (standard size mat) but it is also compatible with the 12’’ x 24’’ mat (used for larger projects).
·      The machine has a LCD screen that shows exactly what you’re cutting and the size or unit of measurement.
·      The machine cuts portrait or landscape.
·      What’s great about the Cricut Expressions machine is it can cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, stencil material and many other materials.
·      The machine can be used for a variety of projects such as: scrapbook layouts, card making, invitation making, decorating a classroom and many other paper related crafts.
·      Cricut Expression Machine comes in a variety of colors.

Pros to the Cricut Expression Machine:

·      There are a variety of Cricut Cartridges on the market.
·      The LCD screen is clear and easy to read.
·      The speed and pressure can be easily adjusted.
·      The machine itself is light and portable.
·      The costumer service representatives at Provocraft are wonderful and helpful. They are a company that stands behind their warranty and what they stand for!
·      The machine and keypad overlays are very easy and simple to use.  They’ve made the machine easy for everyone of all ages!
·      It doesn’t require a computer connection.
·      There are many blogs, tutorials, Facebook groups and YouTube videos online that are extremely helpful.
·      Provocraft has a variety of machines on the market. It is important to purchase one that serves your crafting needs. You’re not limited to purchasing a bigger machine if you plan on making smaller projects.

Cons to the Cricut Expression Machine:

·      Cartridges sold in retail stores are expensive. A cartridge can range anywhere from $50 to $100. Although, if you do your homework and shop around you can find affordable cartridges on Amazon, EBay, Craigslist and Kijiji. Also, keep an eye out for special promotions and sales at Michaels, Walmart and Joann’s. I don’t believe I’ve ever paid full price for a Cricut cartridge.
·      Not only are the cartridges expensive but also the machines themselves are expensive. Although they are a great value compared to other die-based systems on the market. Again, do your homework before purchasing a machine.

Once I pressed the power button on my very first Cricut machine I was instantly hooked! It is a wonderful product that gives crafters the power to create and design wonderful works of art in minutes!

Cricut has come along way since I purchased my Cricut Create machine and Cricut Expressions machine. There are a ton of amazing products that Provocraft has on the market to accompany their Cricut series such as: The Cuttlebug and The Gypsy.

They’ve made the world of crafting much more joyful!

Stay tuned for my next product review!
