Genius: Dove Real Beauty Sketches

The creators behind Dove’s new campaign were definitely working with genius when creating their latest commercial advertisement. 

I found this advertisement to be empowering and inspirational to all women! I had instant chills the first and even second time I watched the video. It definitely hits home for a lot of women.

As a teacher of pre-adolescent girls, I’ve observed many, whom think they are too fat, too pale, too short, and too tall and the list goes on. We spend a lot of time, as women analyzing our imperfections and trying to fix things that aren’t quite right; while we should spend more time valuing the things we like and embrace them. 

It’s a shame that as women we are so often targeted and depicted for our looks!

I wanted to share this video and remind women that people see more in us then we see in ourselves. We need to stop being so harsh, and remind our pre-adolescent girls that they are beautiful! 

So, next time, you look in the mirror name 3 things that you love about yourself!
